Statewide Blended Advanced Standing Program

First required classes start in the Summer and are online.

All students attend New Student Orientation in May on the East Lansing campus.

Students attend class one Saturday per month during the Fall and Spring semesters in the 2nd year of the program via Zoom videoconferencing software. Remaining coursework is done independently online. (For part-time students, Saturday sessions begin in the second year).

Students complete a minimum of 36-credits and a total of 500 hours of field education.

Students are in field for 16 hours a week scheduled during normal business hours (8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday). Visit our Field Education home page for more information.

Both full-time (1-year) and part-time (2-year) options are available.

Students choose either a Clinical Practice or an Organizational Community Leadership (OCL) area of specialization. All courses required for the Clinical Practice concentration are offered in the Statewide Blended online format. Students in the Organization and Community Leadership (OCL) specialization take OCL advanced practice courses (SW 865 and SW 866) in a blended format with the Weekend program including 4 face-to-face classes each semester at the Henry center in Lansing, MI.
