+After being admitted, what semester do students start their program?
Students are only admitted for the Summer semester for Advanced Standing or Statewide Blended Programs. They are admitted for the Fall semester for the Regular MSW program.
+How do I apply to the MSW program?
All applicants to Michigan State University graduate programs use the online application system through the Office of Admissions. There are three steps to complete the application process; detailed information about how to do this and what is required is found on our application process page.
+Can applicants send in a hard copy of their application?
No. All materials have to be submitted online. Detailed information about this and what is required is found on our application process page
+Can hard copies of reference letters be sent?
No. All reference letters have to be submitted on-line. Detailed information about this and what is required is found on our application process page
+When will an applicant be contacted regarding the status of their application?
Applicants can check the status of their application on-line. You will be able to see what material is missing and can make changes until the application is complete. At any time during the admissions process, an applicant may contact the Graduate Office at 5l7-355-7519. It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure all his/her materials have been received.
+What are the requirements for admission to the Regular MSW Program?

+If an applicant is rejected, can s/he reapply the following year?
Yes. A new complete application using current forms must be submitted.
+Is financial aid available?
Yes. Michigan State University and the School of Social Work have a number of programs to help financially support social work students. Please refer to the Financial Aid information.
+When does field instruction begin? Are work-related field placements possible? Is there a choice of field setting?

+Is the TOEFL required?
Yes, it is required for international students. See the Graduate School website for further information. Prior to enrolling for Social Work courses, all international applicants must be assessed by the MSU's English Language Center.
+Is the GRE required?
No. The GRE is not required for admission to the the MSW program.
