ABOUT
Olga Sikstel (she/her) earned her MSW from Michigan State University in 2025 after coming to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar. She brings two decades of clinical practice experience in child welfare, having worked directly with children and families in institutional and community settings. Her transition from clinical to macro practice reflects her desire to address systemic issues that impact vulnerable populations at a broader level. Her unique perspective as an international student, single mother, and experienced practitioner informs her approach to social work research and policy.INTERESTS
While exploring various research directions, Olga is currently focused on paid family leave policies and their impact on family stability and child welfare.
