Weekend Regular Program

Students attend face-to-face classes once a month (8 sessions per year) at the James B. Henry Center in Lansing. The remaining coursework is done independently online.

All students attend New Student Orientation in August on the East Lansing campus.

First required classes start in the Fall and students attend classes year round.

Students complete a minimum of 57-credits and four semesters of field for a total of 960 field hours.

Students are in field for 16 hours a week scheduled during normal business hours (8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday). Field education is conducted during the fall and spring semesters. Students who have long-term employment in a qualified social work organization may be eligible to complete the first two semesters of the field education requirement within their employing institution or complete a project-based field placement. Visit our Field Education home page for more information.

Students choose either a Clinical Practice or an Organizational Community Leadership (OCL) area of specialization.

Only a part-time (3 year) option is available.
