Principal Components

Application Deadline: January 10

The Principal components of the program include:

  • face-to-face instruction during one-week summer institute on campus at MSU in East Lansing usually during the last full week in June for three years
  • face-to-face instruction in a local learning community with a faculty mentor in your region one Saturday each month during Fall and Spring semesters (September through April) for three years
  • regional monthly learning community meetings linked with MSU faculty and other learning communities throughout Michigan through videoconferencing, providing fully interactive audio and video connections
  • required courses year round for three years
  • a considerable portion of most courses conducted through readings, assignments, and interactive activities online in secure web sites
  • field education (four semesters total, two semesters in each of two different agencies) generally arranged close to where you live or work
