Social Work faculty and students are engaged in a variety of research and outreach projects. These are often featured in our semiannual newsletters. Three major projects that provide special educational, service and outreach opportunities are the Chance at Childhood Program (a graduate specialization in collaboration with the MSU-Detroit College of Law to prepare social work students and law students for child advocacy and leadership roles in child welfare), the School's Kinship Care Resource Center (a community-based training and resource center to assist grandparents and other relatives who are raising their grandchildren), and the Hartford Foundation Practicum Partnership Program (a field education model to augment graduate student's field education experiences and to support University and community partnerships in the area of services to older adults).
Projects are listed below. For recent publications and resource materials developed by faculty and students that are available to read or download, please click here. For back issues of the newsletter, please click here.
