The School of Social Work offers coursework in five curricular areas at both
the baccalaureate (BASW) and the master's (MSW) levels. These content areas include: Social
Work Practice, Field Instruction, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Research, and Social
Welfare Policy and Services. Coursework is also offered in such specialized areas as School
Social Work, Social Work and Law, Clinical Social Work with Families, Gerontology, and Urban
Social Work, as well as through electives and independent studies in other areas of relevance
to social work practice at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels.
Doctoral level courses are available to students with MSW degrees who have been admitted to
the Ph.D. Program in Social Work, and to other graduate students by permission of the instructor.
