Pre-award Research Administrator

Ellen Hayse, the School's Pre-award Research Administrator, assists in the following manner:

Finding Funding

  • maintains a list of all research and program interests identified by social work faculty
  • forwards funding notices to faculty on topics that may lie within the realm of their interests
  • conducts regular  searches for funding opportunities
  • subscribes to foundation and federal funding listservs

Applying for Funding

  • provides the PI with a timeline for proposal documents
  • develops budgets and justifications
  • completes online applications
  • works with the MSU Office of Sponsored Programs to obtain necessary approvals and reviews

If you decide to pursue a grant opportunity, notify Ellen as soon as possible using the Notice of Intent to Submit a Grant Proposal form. Ellen will contact you to schedule a meeting to discuss the budget and other aspects of the particular notice.
